Steve achieved a degree in Finance from Texas Christian University, and then an MBA from the Temple Fox School of Business in 2008.
From there, Steve started his professional career in the trucking business with O’Brien Transport, operating as the CFO from 1990 to 2006. Steve managed all receivables, payables, budgeting, sales, and all major financial responsibilities for the business. Steve administered an $11 million budget for the parent company and multi-million dollar budgets for associated enterprises totaling an additional $11+ million, developed over 300 financial tracking spreadsheets to ensure accurate reporting to stakeholders, and managed $2 million line of credit, created all financial reports required for ongoing credit, and maintained a positive relationship with the lender.
After O’Brien Transport, Steve worked at myCIO Wealth Management, operating as the CFO from 2006 to 2008. Steve was responsible for managing and auditing all internal financial activities. He performed all Human Resource functions, monitored Medical and Retirement plans, developed effective financial reporting, and oversaw audits and management of hedge funds.
And after working for other various companies, gaining a great deal of similar financial responsibilities and experience, Steve joined Software Merchant Inc. as the CFO and VP of Sales in 2015. Steve is responsible for all oversight of sales and staffing, invoicing of our clients, and all other related financial responsibilities of the company.
In his pastime, Steve enjoys playing golf, and watching sports like football, baseball, hockey, and horse racing.
